Tunkhannock Area High School

The TAHS curriculum is well-balanced, and class scheduling is designed to give each student an opportunity to explore various areas of interest in addition to maintaining a full academic schedule. TAHS is a comprehensive high school that offers both academic and career technical programming on campus. Honors credit is available in English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Sciences and third- and fourth-year Languages. Advanced Placement courses are available to qualified students in the following subject areas: English Language and Literature, Physics I and II, Biology, Chemistry, Calculus, US History, and Studio Art. Our Career Technical Education programs of study are Building Construction (approval pending 25-26 school year), Auto Technology, Business Technology, Engineering Technology and Early Childhood Education. Other supporting curriculums help students get workforce ready and earn additional certifications such as Drone Piloting, Graphics, Culinary Arts, Machine & Metal Fabrication and Wood Technology.

Requirements for Career Opportunities at your School: Our career initiatives are: yearly Career Fair for 10th, 11th and 12th graders, job shadowing, pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs, Career Exploration class in 9th grade and Career Planning class in 11th grade with guest speakers, employment and internships for grade 12 through our School-to-Work Cooperative Education program
