Our multi-specialty group practice of more than 900 physicians and advanced practice providers offers primary and specialty care across 13 counties and 29 communities within six hospital campuses and 76 regional offices. Guthrie Medical Education Programs include General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Anesthesiology and Orthopedic Surgery Residency, as well as Cardiovascular, Hematology/Oncology, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, Gastroenterology, Podiatry and Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship programs. Guthrie is also a clinical campus for the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.

Description: The Gear-Up Program is designed for high school students who are undecided about their career paths or may not plan to attend higher education institutions. It offers students an opportunity to explore healthcare professions, providing insights and information about job opportunities both before and after high school graduation.

Volunteer Opportunity

Description: The VolunTEEN program at Guthrie Robert Packer hospital gives high school students ages 14 to 17 opportunities to gain valuable employment skills, develop professional relationships, prepare for the job market and get a first-hand look at health care. VolunTEENs work during their school breaks and after school as their schedules allow. Home-schooled students volunteer as their schedule allows. Student volunteers may earn community service hours for school-related requirements. Active VolunTEENs are eligible for an annual $500 scholarship.
